1944 - Huddie Ledbetter, aka Leadbelly, has three recording sessions for Capitol Records (references to twelve tracks being recorded) in Los Angeles. Capitol Records artist Tex Ritter, a fan of Leadbelly's and folk music, helped get him the contract. Online references read that some of the sessions may have been produced by Lee Gillette.
1961 - Judy Garland records tracks for her album "The Garland Touch" at The Capitol Tower Studios in Hollywood, California.
1957 - Frank Sinatra records tracks for his "Come Fly With Me" album at The Capitol Tower Studios in Hollywood, California. 1964 - Julian "Cannonball" Adderley records tracks for his album "Cannoball Adderley's Fiddler On The Roof" at The Capitol Tower Studios in Hollywood, California.
1964 - Brian Wilson records the "Brian Wilson Christmas Interview" at The Capitol Tower Studios in Hollywood, California. If anyone knows who interviewed Brian PLEASE leave a comment.
1967 - The Steve Miller Band have their first recording sessions for Capitol Records at The Capitol Tower Studios in Hollywood, California.
1978 - Badfinger begins recording tracks for their album "Airwaves" at The Capitol Tower Studios in Hollywood, California. 1990 - Nick DeCaro begins recording tracks for his album "Bolero California" at The Capitol Tower Studios in Hollywood, California.
1997 - Mary Black begins recording tracks for her album "Shine" at The Capitol Tower Studios in Hollywood, California.
