1999 - Jadagrace, singer, dancer, actress, granddaughter of Motown founder Barry Gordy, and a Capitol Records artist, is born Jadagrace Michiko Gordy-Nash in Beverly Hills, California.

1942 - Tenor vocalist Giuseppe Nessi, baritone vocalists Mariano Stabile and Afro Poli, and bass vocalist Luciano Donaggio, with Alberto Erede conducting the La Scala Orchestra (lineup unlisted), record Verdi's "Prima Di Tutto (From 'Falstaff' - Act 2, Scene 1) in two parts in Milan, Italy for Telefunken Records. Capitol Records will license Telefunken's catalog for release in the United States and issue both parts on the album "VERDI - Falstaff (Excerpts)" (ECL-8073).
1949 - Capitol Records artist Dean Martin marries his second wife, Jeanne Biegger, a former Orange Bowl Queen
1949 - Sally Martin (on vocals, with Julia Mae Smith on trumpet, Hilton "Nappy" Lamare on guitar, Leonard Bibb on bass, and Zutty Singleton on drums) records the tracks "In My Heart", "The Little Wooden Church (On The Hill), "Jesus Is The Only One" and "He's All I Need" in Los Angeles, California. Capitol Records will later release the first and last tracks together as a single (Capitol 848) and the second and third tracks together as a single (Capitol 57-70048).
1952 - Robert Sands, Gordon MacRae, Lucille Norman, and Thurl Ravenscroft (on vocals), with an orchestra conducted by George Greeley, record the tracks "Act I - Prologue" (vocals by Robert Sands and an unlisted male chorus), "Why Did We Marry Soldiers?" 65 Years Ago Today In 1953 - Mel Blanc records the vocal tracks for the titles "Happy Hippety Hopper" (Parts 1 and 2), "Pied Piper Pussy Cat" (Parts 1 and 2), and "Yes Das Ist Ein Christmas Tree" using a script written by Ted Pierce and Warren Foster in Los Angeles, California over band tracks recorded by Van Alexander conducting his own arrangements to an orchestra that were recorded on August 31, 1953. After additional band tracks are recorded by Van Alexander conducting his own arrangements to the orchestra for "Happy Hippety Hopper" and "Pied Piper Pussy Cat" on September 10, 1953, Capitol Records will issue the final mixes of "Happy Hippety Hopper" eight years later in the compilation album "Bugs Bunny And His Friends" (Capitol J-3257), "Pied Piper Pussy Cat" as a children's single album (Capitol CAS-3188), and "Yes Das Ist Ein Christmas Tree" as a children's record single with "I Tant Wait Till Quithmuth (Day)" (recorded October 9, 1951) on the flipside (CAS-3191).

1959 - Frank Sinatra, Maurice Chevalier and chorus record the track "Montmart" with arranger and conductor Nelson Riddle in Studio A in The Capitol Tower Studios

Capitol Records will issue the title as part of its "Gentlemen Of Song" series on the CD "Volume 18 Spotlight On...Matt Monro" (7-80181-2).
1967 - The Lettermen (vocalists Jim Pike, Tony Butala, and Bob Engemann), with unlisted others, record the titles "Windy", "Medley: Goin' Out Of My Head/Can't Take My Eyes Off Of Her", "James Bond Bit", and "I Believe/The Lettermen Bows" in Los Angeles, California. After overdubs for all the titles are recorded on September 13, 1967, Capitol Records will issue "Windy", "Medley: Goin' Out Of My Head/Can't Take My Eyes Off Of Her", and "I Believe/The Lettermen Bows" on the group's album "The Lettermen!! And "Live"!" (T/ST 2758), "Medley: Goin' Out Of My Head/Can't Take My Eyes Off Of Her" and "I Believe/The Lettermen Bows" together as a single (Capitol 2054), and have yet to issue "James Bond Bit".
